WoW TCG Loot Cards - World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Loot

Win a Spectral Tiger Mount!

July 23, 2010 By Garwulf 4 Comments

For those of you who've always wanted your very own Spectral Tiger mount, but never had an extra $800 or so lying around so that you could buy one off ebay… well listen closely, 'cause here's your chance to nab one for free!

Cryptozoic Entertainment, producer of the WoW TCG, is hooking up hobby stores all across the country with some fabulous prizes to give away this weekend. These select hobby stores will be hosting Spectral Safari WoW TCG tournaments this Saturday and Sunday, July 24th and 25th.

Participants in the tournament will be competing with one of the 18 Class Starter Decks, which they will be given at random. Players who do well will receive additional booster packs from the Wrathgate Expansion. The winner of the tournament will be awarded their own Blazing Hippogryph WoW Mount!

But wait, there's more… all registered participants will be eligible to win a Spectral Tiger WoW Mount at the end of the event. You don't have to compete for it, you just have to be present for your chance to win! How awesome is that..?!

For those interested in signing up for an event in your area, please visit the Cryptozoic Forums for more information.

Better hurry though, because the first 25 Spectral Safari registrants receive a free loot code for a Landro's Pet Box!

Good luck!

Archives: A WoW TCG Hobby Store Exclusive

July 7, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Cryptozoic Entertainment, producer of the World of Warcraft Trading Card game, has just announced plans of an exclusive hobby store only release of an upcoming booster box entitled, Archives.

Cryptozoic has selected 190 of the best cards from the first 3 years of the WoW TCG and has applied a premium foil treatment to them. In addition to this, they are also randomly inserting the most popular loot cards from that period as well.

Featured loot that you could find in these new WoW TCG hobby store exclusive booster packs include: the X-51 Nether Rocket, Red Bearon, Saltwater Snapjaw, and… GASP! Even the Spectral Tiger will be in there.

The World of Warcraft TCG Archives Booster Boxes will hit select hobby store shelves in August. The suggested retail price for the Archives booster packs will be $5.99.

This is exciting news for both collectors of the WoW TCG and for premium loot seekers.

For the official announcement on this exciting new exclusive release of the WoW TCG, please see the Cryptozoic website.

UDE Points Program is Closed

June 21, 2010 By Garwulf 26 Comments

It's been awhile since players have been able to redeem UDE Points for WoW Loot. This is due to Upper Deck no longer handling the WoW TCG. Unfortunately, those of you with a lot of stored up UDE Points, or worse yet, UDE points cards, are likely going to be victims of this Blizz / UDE falling out.

UDE is no longer recognizing redeemable points for the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. They are (supposedly) working towards a system that will allow players to spend the points they have on file. This may or may not happen, but what is certain is that those of you with non-redeemed points cards may as well use them to start your next BBQ. I seriously doubt that any UDE Points cards which have not been redeemed as of yet, will ever be redeemable through the Cryptozoic/Blizzard system moving forward.

It would be nice if Blizzard, Cryptozoic and Upper Deck could work together and find some sort of interim solution that would allow for UDE Points redemption. Perhaps simply make them all redeemable for Landro's Gift Boxes or something. It seems a shame that all of the non-redeemed UDE Points cards that are floating around out there have essentially no value now. Oh well… these things happen. People just have to be aware and strike while the iron's still hot.

UDE Points and WoW TCGThere is an official message displayed at the UDE Points Store, but it is only visible after logging in. It seems that UDE is working towards finding a solution that will offer some sort of consolation for unredeemed points, but there is no acknowledgment of unredeemed cards.

Any updates on the future redemption of existing UDE Points will be posted as information is obtained.

In the meantime, it's probably advisable to voice your opinion and concern on this matter in the official WoW TCG Forum. The more people that petition for this redemption of unspent points, the more likely it will happen, instead of it just being slyly swept under the rug.

UDE Points Program Suspended

May 5, 2010 By Garwulf 1 Comment

It seems that Upper Deck has suspended the redemption of UDE Points from their online store. It was rumored that items were going to probably be in short supply, but this comes as a surprise to many, as it came without warning.

From the official WoW Forums:

The UD points program has been suspended. We realize that many of the prizes provided through the program were virtual items used in the on-line World of War craft game. We are actively working with Blizzard on a possible solution. Please keep checking the website where we will post all updates.

Thank You,

The Upper Deck Company

Since this post was not made by a representative of Blizzard or UDE, it is not an official announcement. However, it does appear that many others have been shut down when trying to redeem their UDE Points at the Upper Deck website.

No update has been given as to whether or not the program will be reinstated in the near future.

Wrathgate Sneak Preview Contest winner chosen

April 28, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Cryptozoic Entertainment has chosen Matt Lundh as the winner of their Wrathgate Sneak Preview Contest!

You may recall that last month Cryptozoic announced plans for a contest that would send one winner and a guest to their headquarters in Irvine, CA. Contest participants were asked to prove to Cryptozoic why they were most deserving of the prize package.

Well… Matt, along with some selfless buddies who lobbied for Matt in lieu of entering themselves, proved to Cryptozoic that he deserved to win the Wrathgate contest.

View Matt's official video entry below.

In addition to exclaiming his love for the WoW TCG, his friends also vouched for the fact that Matt is just a genuinely “nice guy”. This fact definitely helped to sway the vote in his favor.

See the official post about Matt's selection as the winner of the Wrathgate Sneak Preview Contest at the Cryptozoic website.

Win a Trip to the Cryptozoic Headquarters!

April 17, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Cryptozoic Entertainment is hosting a contest that will send one lucky winner and a guest to their headquarters in Irvine, CA.

The contest package includes round trip airfare for two, a 2 night stay in Irvine, a tour of the Cryptozoic offices, a couple of comped meals, and possibly even some cool WoW TCG Swag thrown in.

But wait… that's not all..!

The trip coincides with the release of the Wrathgate Expansion, which means you, your guest and the Cryptozoic employees will be among the first to preview the new WoW TCG expansion. How cool is that..?!

Also, you'll not only be busting open packs with the Cryptozoic peeps, but you'll also be able to partake in their playing of the WoW TCG in their sneak preview afternoon hooky-fest.

All you have to do for your chance at the trip, is to tell the folks at Cryptozoic why you want to come over to Irvine and play the WoW TCG with them.

Entries must be received before 12am on April 23rd, so get on it!

Cryptozoic EntertainmentFor more info on the contest and how to enter, please visit the Cryptozoic website for details.

Celestial Steed Mount and Lil’ XT pet now available at the Blizzard Store

April 15, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Blizzard has just added two new exciting in-game loots to its online store today. One of them is a mount! GASP!

The Celestial Steed is the first mount ever offered via the Blizzard Store. It applies to all of the characters in your account and its speed will scale with your characters' riding ability.

The Celestial Steed mount and Lil XT pet are both available now in the Blizzard Store.

Celestial Steed & Lil' XT

Celestial Steed

Celestial SteedPrice: $25.00
Speed: This mount scales with your riding skill, all the way to 310% if you possess another mount of that speed.

This is obviously a big announcement, as this is the first time Blizzard has offered a purchasable mount through their online store. Being that many players spend anywhere from $150 to $500, on up to $1000 (Spectral Tiger of course) for mount loot on ebay, I'd expect sales on this to be huge at only $25. Not to mention, this mount applies to all of your characters, not just the one with the redemption code. Yes, that's right… all of your existing and future characters will receive this mount.

Sounds too good to be true, eh..? 🙂

Lil' XT

Lil' XTPrice: $10.00

Lil' XT is an exact replica of the much larger version of his self residing in Ulduar. He also behaves in much the same way. He has various emotes including:

  • He performs his calisthenics. No Lil' XT pet would be complete without doing his warm-ups.
  • He throws his tantrum and pounds his fists on the ground. “NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO..!”
  • He kneels down for a snooze. “Aaahh… so tired. I'll rest for just a moment”.

As with the other Blizzard Store pet loots, Lil' XT will apply to all existing and future accounts.

Visit the Blizzard Store for more details.
