WoW TCG Loot Cards - World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Loot

Throne of the Tides: Wasteland Tallstrider Loot Card Preview

September 21, 2011 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

In-game images of the new Wasteland Tallstrider mount have been elusive, but I did manage to spot a pic of the loot card today on eBay. If the artwork is any indication, it looks like this new mount is going to be an ivory colored tallstrider, similar to the tallstriders found in Mulgore and the Northern Barrens.

Wasteland Tallstrider Loot Card

I also saw another image which a seller posted on ebay that depicted the mount as looking like a Lost Torranche — the purple and green tallstriders found on Sorrow Wing Point, in Terrokar Forest.

To me, that would obviously be a more exciting option – albeit a little flamboyant. However, considering the Wasteland Tallstrider loot card is showing an ivory tallstrider skin, I'm thinking that's what it will probably be. So far, all of the mount loot cards that have been released all have artwork representative of what the mount actually looks like in-game.

Either way, it's going to be an awesome mount, and the very first tallstrider mount available in World of Warcraft.

Wasteland TallstriderAt any rate, we'll know the actual model of the Wasteland Tallstrider pretty soon. Throne of the Tides is set to hit stores on October 11th. In the meantime, I'll be sure to post any pics or video of this exciting new ground mount from the WoW TCG.

The Wasteland Tallstrider is a rare loot card, found in approximately 1 in 242 booster packs of Throne of the Tides.

Sellers are already posting pre-orders on ebay, so grab one up now if you want to be among the first to show off this unique new mount. Average price is under $200 as of right now, which is relatively cheap for mount loot.

Throne of the Tides Loot Cards

September 3, 2011 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Cryptozoic has revealed the names of the three new loot cards that will be part of the upcoming WoW TCG expansion, entitled: “Aftermath: Throne of the Tides”.

No image previews are available at this time – of either the loot or the loot cards themselves – but we do know the names…

The rare loot is going to be a new ground mount, as mentioned in a previous Throne of the Tides announcement. This new mount is going to be a Tallstrider – the first mount of its type in the game.

The uncommon loot is a novelty item of some sort, known as the Throwing Starfish. My guess is that it will be something similar to the Paper Airplane, in that it will probably be some sort of item that you throw ‘at' or ‘to' other players.

Lastly, the new common loot is going to be another pet, of course. This one's going to be called Bloat the Bubble Fish. I'm thinking this will be a humorous floating ‘blowfish type' of aquatic creature – kind of like a balloon pet.

As more info comes in, I'll be sure to post it. 🙂

Throne of the Tides Coming in October

August 27, 2011 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Aftermath: Throne of the Tides is the upcoming expansion set for the World of WarCraft Trading Card Game, and is expected to hit hobby store shelves sometime in October, 2011.

Throne of the Tides will feature 3 new loot cards from the WoW TCG, including the rare Wasteland Tallstrider Mount. No information has been given on the look of the Wasteland Tallstrider mount, but it will be the first Tallstrider mount ever available to WoW players.

An interesting note about Tallstrider mounts…

They have been in the game data for years, but were never actually introduced. It's likely that they were intended to be an available mount type for horde characters, but for some reason, ending up getting scrapped. One theory is that Tallstriders were perhaps going to be added as the Tauren mount, only to be later replaced by the larger and more practical Kodo. It's also possible that maybe Tallstriders were the early concept for Blood Elf mounts.

Regardless… they'll at least be one Tallstrider mount available in-game, come October of this year. 🙂

As for the other two loot cards in Throne of the Tides… no info has been given about them, but it's likely that the common one will be a companion pet of some sort.

War Party Hitching Post Video Preview

May 17, 2011 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

The following is a short video I found on YouTube which demonstrates the on use effect of the War Party Hitching Post WoW loot card. Unfortunately, the player is not partied with anyone so you don't get to see how awesome this loot can be once you start forming a posse, but you can still get the idea. Were that player in a party or raid however, all of the partied players would be able to summon horses from the War Party Hitching Post.

Someone seriously needs to put together a capitol city raid with everyone mounted atop one of the horses summoned from this loot, then post the video on YouTube.

Anyway… here's a quick and simple preview of the War Party Hitching Post…

I like the hammer swinging animation before the War Party Hitching Post is built, i.e., summoned. That's definitely a nice touch.

The War Party Hitching Post loot card is available in booster packs from the latest expansion set for the WoW TCG — War of the Elements. It's a rare loot card – found in only 1 in 121 packs.

For additional info on this loot card, please see this page.

WoW TCG War of the Elements Loot Preview

April 20, 2011 By Garwulf 1 Comment

War of the Elements Release Date: April 26, 2011

Next week sees the release of the latest expansion set for the WoW TCG — War of the Elements.

As of now, booster box pre-orders are fetching around $70-$80 on ebay. Now that's a pretty average price to pay for an expansion set booster box, but as always… if you're into the cards mainly for the loot, then buying the loot cards outright is the smart move. For example, the Savage Raptor loot card is found in only about 1 in ten boxes, which could mean spending in excess of $700-$800 dollars. Yet, you could buy the loot outright for about two hundred bucks.

Regardless of whether you like to try and beat the odds by busting packs, or go for the sure thing and buy it now, here's a look at the exciting new WoW TCG loot that will be available next week…

Savage Raptor War of the Elements Loot

Savage Raptor

The Savage Raptor is the latest mount loot available through the WoW TCG. It is a ground mount, requiring at least level 20 and Apprentice riding skill, in order to use. The Savage Raptor will scale to the player's highest trained level of ground mout riding skill.

The Savage Raptor's skin is modeled after King Mosh, the rare Devilsaur found in Un'Goro Crater. The Savage Raptor is, of course, a raptor, but the pattern and coloring of the skin is identical to that of King Mosh's.

War Party Hitching Post War of the Elements Loot

War Party Hitching Post

The War Party Hitching Post is an exciting new loot item which allows you to summon a hitching post which raid or party members can use to obtain a special horse mount. The mounts themselves aren't really all that unique, apart from them looking like they came straight from an old western movie. Once a player has acquired a mount, they last for up to three minutes or until the player dismounts. The cooldown on the War Party Hitching Post is 30 minutes.

This is a really unique item which is sure to be a hit for both battlegrounds and capitol city raids.

Landro's Lichling War of the Elements Loot

Landro's Lichling

Landro's Lichling is a re-skinned version of the popular Lil' KT pet available through Blizzard's online store. Landro's Lichling possesses all of the same behaviors and emotes, including his amusing yet malicious tendency to randomly slay nearby critters using his ice block spell. Whenever he slays a critter or you kill an opposing player, Landro's Lichling lets ut a maniacal laugh, just the same as Lil' KT.

Landro's Lichling is a super-common loot card.

WoW TCG Worldbreaker Loot Feature

December 13, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

The highly anticipated Worldbreaker expansion will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, December 14th.

This latest expansion for the WoW TCG features 3 all-new loot cards, including an epic flying mount and the first non-consumable super-common loot card.

Heres' a quick rundown of the new loot cards included in the Worldbreaker expansion…

Mottled Drake

[phpbay]mottled drake loot, 3, “150192”, “non not”[/phpbay]
Mottled DrakeThe piece de resistance in this latest expansion is the Mottled Drake loot card. The Mottled Drake loot card awards players with an epic quality, very fast flying mount. The Mottled Drake resembles other drake mounts in the game, but this newest loot mount sets itself apart from the rest with its unique coloring and patterned skin.

The Mottled Drake is a very rare card. It is found in approximately 1 out 242 booster packs of Worldbreaker.

Click here for additional information and a further description of the Mottled Drake.

Grim Campfire

[phpbay]grim campfire loot, 3, “150192”, “non not”[/phpbay]
The Grim Campfire is the rare loot card in the Worldbreaker expansion, and a very interesting loot to say the least. Similar to Icecrown's Portal Stone loot, the Grim Campfire is another much more visually impressive version of a common in-game spell or ability. In much the same way that the Portal Stone is a replacement or alternative to the Hearthstone; the Grim Campfire is a unique alternative to the Basic Campfire.

The Grim Campfire loot card awards players with the skill to create an eerie campfire – complete with a decorative ensemble of skulls and bones, set ablaze with a purple flame. It shares the same 5 minute cooldown as that of the Basic Campfire, and does essentially the same thing… it just looks much cooler. You can use the Grim Campfire to cook food, however, it won't increase anyone's spirit. If anything, it'll leave players a little uneasy. 😉

Grim Campfire is found in approximately 1 out of 121 booster packs of Worldbreaker.

Click here for more on the Grim Campfire.

Landro's Lil' XT

[phpbay]landros lil xt loot, 3, “150192”, “non not”[/phpbay]
Landro's Lil' XT is basically a goblin knockoff of the original Lil' XT pet. Landro's Lil' XT is identical to the gnomish-made Lil' XT, but with slightly different coloring.

The most notable thing about Landro's Lil' XT is that it's the first non-consumable super-common-loot offered through the WoW TCG. Prior to this newest pet loot, all super common loot cards were issued with charges. Once the charges were used up, so was the loot. Landro's Lil' XT, however, is an unlimited use pet. 🙂

WoW TCG Worldbreaker Loot Preview: Mottled Drake

November 20, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

With the new Worldbreaker expansion for the WoW TCG, comes an all new trio of exciting loot rewards. The premium loot to be found in packs of Wordbreaker is the Mottled Drake flying mount. The Mottled Drake loot card is found in only 1 out of 242 booster packs of Worldbreaker, making this a very rare card.

Here's a sneak preview of this all new dragon mount…

The mount is bind on equip, which means you can buy, sell or trade it in-game.

Dealers are pre-selling this loot card, along with the Grim Campfire and Landro's Lil XT loot items – also from the Worldbreaker expansion. The Mottled Drake loot card is fetching around $350-$400 now on ebay, which is pretty typical of most new mount loot. That may seem expensive, but it's roughly more than half of what it would cost t try and pull this card from a pack.

At an average of $70 apiece with S&H, one would have to spend around $700 on Worldbreaker booster packs before they pulled this card. I mean… you could get lucky and pull it from the first few packs, but then again… if you're unlucky… well, you get the point. $350 is not so bad for a sure thing. 😉
