Tabard of Frost…going…going…

August 11, 2011 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Fewer and fewer loot codes for the Tabard of Frost have been showing up on ebay, and with that decrease in availability, the prices are really starting to climb. Prices for this rare loot on ebay have recently shot into the $60-$70 range, with current listings seeing prices in the $90 range!

I'd expect to see the Tabard of Frost cracking the $100 mark before the end of August. In other words, if you've been thinking about buying this epic tabard loot — now's the time! $90 may seem like a lot now, but if you want it bad enough then you'd better get it now before these start selling for $150 and up.

The only way to obtain this tabard was by redeeming UDE Points, which of course is no longer possible. Dealers and collectors that have already redeemed their points are the only ones in possession of these loot codes, and once these codes have been used up, the Tabard of Frost will be no longer available — period.

Also on the Endangered List… Tabard of the Void

Another tabard loot item that's not far behind is the Tabard of the Void. What's probably the second most popular, behind the Tabard of Frost, the silver and black Tabard of the Void is also becoming increasingly scarce. At only $40-$50 right now on ebay, this one can be seen as a bargain. I'm pretty certain it won't be far behind the Tabard of Frost in terms of asking price, and should see prices in the $100 range by this Christmas.

Featured Loot: Statue Generator

June 4, 2011 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Of all the kooky loot available from the WoW TCG, the Instant Statue Pedestal is easily one of the most amusing. When used, the Instant Statue Pedestal creates a very heroic statue, featuring your character as the chiseled centerpiece!

WoW Statue PedastalThe item sits in your inventory, so you don't need to equip it as a trinket — just assign it to a hotkey, or open your inventory and click on it when you need to head for a bio break, grab a phone call, head into the kitchen for a snack, grab a smoke, etc…

Just be prepared to receive a few tells once you return. This entertaining loot item is always a center of attention when on display.

The statue effect will last for five minutes, or until cancelled. Once used, it has a 30 minute cooldown.

This item is usable at any level, so you can rock it on your level 1 bank alt, twink, or which ever toon you desire to use it on.

Instant Statue Pedestal Loot

When you activate the Instant Statue Pedestal, your character grows 50% larger, stands atop a pedestal and goes into a fixed flex pose. You cannot move while under the effect of this item.

Here's a short video demonstrating what the effect looks like…

Instant Statue Pedestal Video

The Instant Staue Pedestal is a loot item that you can obtain after having acquired a Statue Generator loot card, which is from the Wrathgate Expansion Set.

The Statue Generator loot card is pretty uncommon, so don't expect that you'll find one even if you buy a box or two of Wrathgate, as this card is found in only about 1 in 121 packs. Wrathgate boxes are fetching about a hundred bucks apiece on ebay right now, which means if you play the odds… you could end up spending $500 or more trying to find this card..!

Good news is, the Statue Generator loot card can usually be picked up for around fifty bucks if you buy it on ebay. ๐Ÿ™‚

WoW TCG Worldbreaker Loot Feature

December 13, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

The highly anticipated Worldbreaker expansion will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, December 14th.

This latest expansion for the WoW TCG features 3 all-new loot cards, including an epic flying mount and the first non-consumable super-common loot card.

Heres' a quick rundown of the new loot cards included in the Worldbreaker expansion…

Mottled Drake

[phpbay]mottled drake loot, 3, “150192”, “non not”[/phpbay]
Mottled DrakeThe piece de resistance in this latest expansion is the Mottled Drake loot card. The Mottled Drake loot card awards players with an epic quality, very fast flying mount. The Mottled Drake resembles other drake mounts in the game, but this newest loot mount sets itself apart from the rest with its unique coloring and patterned skin.

The Mottled Drake is a very rare card. It is found in approximately 1 out 242 booster packs of Worldbreaker.

Click here for additional information and a further description of the Mottled Drake.

Grim Campfire

[phpbay]grim campfire loot, 3, “150192”, “non not”[/phpbay]
The Grim Campfire is the rare loot card in the Worldbreaker expansion, and a very interesting loot to say the least. Similar to Icecrown's Portal Stone loot, the Grim Campfire is another much more visually impressive version of a common in-game spell or ability. In much the same way that the Portal Stone is a replacement or alternative to the Hearthstone; the Grim Campfire is a unique alternative to the Basic Campfire.

The Grim Campfire loot card awards players with the skill to create an eerie campfire – complete with a decorative ensemble of skulls and bones, set ablaze with a purple flame. It shares the same 5 minute cooldown as that of the Basic Campfire, and does essentially the same thing… it just looks much cooler. You can use the Grim Campfire to cook food, however, it won't increase anyone's spirit. If anything, it'll leave players a little uneasy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Grim Campfire is found in approximately 1 out of 121 booster packs of Worldbreaker.

Landro's Lil' XT

[phpbay]landros lil xt loot, 3, “150192”, “non not”[/phpbay]
Landro's Lil' XT is basically a goblin knockoff of the original Lil' XT pet. Landro's Lil' XT is identical to the gnomish-made Lil' XT, but with slightly different coloring.

The most notable thing about Landro's Lil' XT is that it's the first non-consumable super-common-loot offered through the WoW TCG. Prior to this newest pet loot, all super common loot cards were issued with charges. Once the charges were used up, so was the loot. Landro's Lil' XT, however, is an unlimited use pet. ๐Ÿ™‚

WoW TCG Worldbreaker Loot Preview: Mottled Drake

November 20, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

With the new Worldbreaker expansion for the WoW TCG, comes an all new trio of exciting loot rewards. The premium loot to be found in packs of Wordbreaker is the Mottled Drake flying mount. The Mottled Drake loot card is found in only 1 out of 242 booster packs of Worldbreaker, making this a very rare card.

Here's a sneak preview of this all new dragon mount…

The mount is bind on equip, which means you can buy, sell or trade it in-game.

Dealers are pre-selling this loot card, along with the Grim Campfire and Landro's Lil XT loot items – also from the Worldbreaker expansion. The Mottled Drake loot card is fetching around $350-$400 now on ebay, which is pretty typical of most new mount loot. That may seem expensive, but it's roughly more than half of what it would cost t try and pull this card from a pack.

At an average of $70 apiece with S&H, one would have to spend around $700 on Worldbreaker booster packs before they pulled this card. I mean… you could get lucky and pull it from the first few packs, but then again… if you're unlucky… well, you get the point. $350 is not so bad for a sure thing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Featured Loot: Wooly White Rhino

November 3, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

The Wooly White Rhino is the latest mount loot available through the WoW TCG. It's an epic quality ground mount (of course…), requiring 150 riding skill to use.

This is a really cool mount. It's similar to the Big Battle Bear in that it's a no-bells-and-whistles, all business sort of mount. It's a freakin' rhino.. It doesn't need any armor or other superfluous fluff – – just a saddle, and it's go-time..!

Wooly White Rhino mount

[phpbay]wooly white rhino loot, 2, “150192”, “non not lot”[/phpbay]

An ideal ground mount for the big'uns

The Wooly White Rhino is a perfect fit for some of the larger classes in the game, e.g., Draenei, Tauren and Orcs, but any class will still look great riding it. It matches the skin used by the rhinos in the Storm Peaks, as well as that of Icehorn, the rare rhino found in Borean Tundra. This makes it a good choice for any hunters who wish to have a mount that matches their exotic rhino pet.

The Wooly White Rhino is easily one of the less commonly found WoW TCG mounts in-game, so if you're looking for something to make you the envy of your friends and fellow players, this may be just the ticket. Even better yet… the price on it has dropped considerably since the Icecrown expansion first shipped back in September. It's fairly easy to nab the Wooly White Rhino loot card for around $200 right now, if you're lucky. That's nearly half of what they were going for less than two months ago.

Here's a video of an Orc Death Knight with the Wooly White Rhino mount. There's some nice footage of him marching through Orgrimmar, as well as various parts of Northrend, including him leading a herd of rhinos through the Storm Peaks.

It gives a good example of the Wooly White Rhino's animations, plus it's in Hi-Def – – check it out…

This guy has quite the collection of loot by the way… If it's not enough that he rides to see Landro on his Spectral Tiger, at 1:18 he brings out his BlizzCon polar bear, followed by a Magic Rooster mount. Must be nice!

Being that boxes of Icecrown are going for about $60 a pop, containing 24 packs each; along with the fact that this mount's rarity is listed at 1/242 packs – – one could expect to drop about six hundred bucks trying their luck at pulling the Wooly White Rhino loot card from a pack.

$200 is really not such a bad deal. Here are a few that are available for sale right now…

Ethereal Portal… Only giant-size

November 3, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Here's a Hi-Def look at the new Ethereal Portal loot item from the Icecrown Expansion Set. The Ethereal Portal is the reward for redeeming the Portal Stone loot card.

The Ethereal Portal is basically a much more visually impressive version of the standard hearthstone. It shares the same 30 minute cooldown as the standard hearthstone, which means, no… you don't get an additional hearthstone cooldown with this item. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a look at the hi-def video posted below, paying particular attention to what happens at :34 and again at 4:17…

It seems Dotmaster has found a way to render a mega-size Ethereal Portal, by activating it while mounted on their Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. This effect is likely a bug and may be addressed, but it makes for a pretty awesome graphic nonetheless.

There are a couple of other WoW TCG items used in the video as well… At 1:36 Dotmaster busts out his Sandbox Tiger, then at 2:19 the party really gets underway when the D.I.S.C.O. unit is deployed.

The Ethereal Portal is one of the more unusual and exciting on-use loot items in the game.

Portal Stone loot cards are selling for around fifty dollars at this time, which is actually a pretty good deal considering the rarity of this card. The Portal Stone loot card is rare, being inserted at a rate of approximately 1 in 121 packs. Icecrown booster boxes sell for about $60-$65 each, and contain 24 packs. At 1 in 121 booster packs, one could expect to root through up to five boxes of Icecrown before producing this loot card. At that rate, this card could end up costing hundreds of dollars.

$50 isn't so bad now, is it..? ๐Ÿ˜‰
