I haven't seen much news in the past week or so about the upcoming Pet Battle System, so to liven things up around here I figure why not give away another Purple Puffer pet..? Sounds like a good idea, right..? 🙂

The rules for entering will be more or less identical to the last contest, but this time I want to make the entries a little more interesting. Instead of just saying, “pick, pick me..!”, tell everyone which companion pet you'd most like to add to your WoW pet collection. I'm just curious to know which pets players covet the most.

I'll pick a winner next Friday, November 25th, at 10am PST. The winner will be chosen at random, and notified immediately. After that, the winner has 24 hours to respond, otherwise the Purple Puffer goes into a second chance drawing. Once the winner has confirmed receipt of my email, I'll send them their Bloat the Bubble Fish loot card code.

The Purple Puffer loot code is not redeemable until Patch 4.3 hits, which will likely be either next week or the week after.

If you want to know what the Purple Puffer is going to be like in-game, have a look at the Sea Pony preview below. The Purple Puffer will probably be animated exactly like the Sea Pony, only they'll be a puffer fish inside the bubble instead of a seahorse.

Earlier today I chose two random comment entries from the Purple Puffer / Papa Hummel's Pet Biscuit loot contest I put on this past week. Both winners have been notified, but I've only received one confirmation so far. I'll give the other winner until this Friday morning (11/4) to respond, otherwise I'll have to dip back in and pick a different winner. I imagine the rest of you will be crossing your fingers, hoping that they don't respond. 😉

If you didn't win, I hope you at least enjoyed the opportunity. There's a real good chance that you'll get some more shots at free WoW pet loot in the not-so-distant future. 🙂

Say that five times fast… Ha Ha..! The WoW TCG site recently posted some pics of the new pet loot obtainable from the Bloat the Bubble Fish loot card. As predicted, it's a cute little Purple Puffer fish who floats along, contained in his own little bubble-sphere of water.

Definitely an amusing pet!

If you happened to get ahold of a Bloat the Bubble Fish loot card, remember that you cannot redeem it until Patch 4.3 goes live.

I'm not entirely sure how accurate this is, but I followed a Twitter link from WoWHead and discovered what could possibly be an image model of the new Purple Puffer pet.

No official pics have been posted online just yet, so this is pure speculation. It does look pretty legit though.

I'll post additional pics once more have been leaked or a formal announcement has been made, but here's an early glimpse of the possible model for the Purple Puffer pet…

Throne of the Tides Loot Preview: WoW TCG Loot on the PTR

The new Throne of the Tides loot items appear to be available on the Patch 4.3 PTR, provided you have a promo code. Until I can locate a proper code that will allow me to claim these items from Landro, the only things of note that I discovered were the actual names of the in-game loot.

As a bonus… the loot names for the items coming in the next two expansions were accessible as well. I'll post those later today. Not sure if they'll be redeemable, but I'll try. 🙂

  • Throne of the Tides Loot on the PTRThe Wasteland Tallstrider loot card will be redeemable for a Swift Shorestrider.
  • The Throwing Starfish loot card will be redeemable for none other than a… Throwing Starfish. 😉
  • The Bloat the Bubble Fish loot card will be redeemable for a Purple Puffer.

No actual in-game images or videos of these new loots have been posted yet, but here are the tooltips, which offer some clues as to the appearance of the new loot…
