WoW TCG Loot Cards - World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Loot

WoW TCG Worldbreaker Release Date: December 14, 2010

November 9, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Cryptozoic just announced today that the next expansion for the WoW TCG will be released on December 14, 2010 – one week after World of Warcraft: Cataclysm hits live servers.

The WoW TCG Worldbreaker Expansion Set features some exciting new loot, including the first ever non-consumable super common loot. Starting with the Worldbreaker expansion, Cryptozoic is happy to announce that all new super common loot from this point forward will be in the form of an unlimited use in-game pet!

Landro's Lil' XT

Landro's Lil' XT is the first upgraded super-common loot. The pet is basically the same as the Lil' XT pet from the Blizzard store, only with a new paint job. Landro's Lil' XT will be found in approximately one out of every 11 booster packs of Worldbreaker. It's doubtful that Landro's Lil' XT will be a bind on account pet, however. At 1 in 11 packs, I'm guessing it will be character-specific like the rest of the WoW TCG Loot, rather than BoA, as is the case with items purchased through the Blizzard store.

Even though the Landro's Lil' XT loot cards are going to be really common, they're still found in only 1 out of 11 packs. With booster boxes of Worldbreaker fetching around $60 each (before S&H), that puts an average price tag of nearly thirty bucks on this new pet.

Here are a few of them for sale on ebay right now:

Grim Campfire

[phpbay]grim campfire loot, 2, “150192”, “”[/phpbay]
The rare loot in Worldbreaker is the Grim Campfire. This item looks to be an alternative to the standard cooking fire, and will actually be usable for cooking food. No spirit buff though. 😉 Not much is known about the Grim Campfire other than it will probably be… spooky. This item is sure to be a hit with the role players. The Grim Campfire is going to be found in 1 out of 121 packs.

The Mottled Drake Flying Mount

[phpbay]mottled drake loot, 2, “150192”, “”[/phpbay]
Last but not least… the ultra-rare loot is going to be yet another flying mount. The Mottled Drake is going to be the tough pull from Worldbreaker; inserted at a rate of only 1 in 242 booster packs. No previews have been given of this new dragon mount, but it's probably going to have a similar model as that of the standard drake mounts, e.g., the Bronze Drake from heroic Culling of Stratholme. Based upon its title, the Mottled Drake will most likely be spotted.

Hobby stores are taking pre-orders currently, so if you're anxious to try your luck at getting some of the new Worldbreaker loot, then you may want to reserve a box today.

Featured Loot: Wooly White Rhino

November 3, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

The Wooly White Rhino is the latest mount loot available through the WoW TCG. It's an epic quality ground mount (of course…), requiring 150 riding skill to use.

This is a really cool mount. It's similar to the Big Battle Bear in that it's a no-bells-and-whistles, all business sort of mount. It's a freakin' rhino.. It doesn't need any armor or other superfluous fluff – – just a saddle, and it's go-time..!

Wooly White Rhino mount

[phpbay]wooly white rhino loot, 2, “150192”, “non not lot”[/phpbay]

An ideal ground mount for the big'uns

The Wooly White Rhino is a perfect fit for some of the larger classes in the game, e.g., Draenei, Tauren and Orcs, but any class will still look great riding it. It matches the skin used by the rhinos in the Storm Peaks, as well as that of Icehorn, the rare rhino found in Borean Tundra. This makes it a good choice for any hunters who wish to have a mount that matches their exotic rhino pet.

The Wooly White Rhino is easily one of the less commonly found WoW TCG mounts in-game, so if you're looking for something to make you the envy of your friends and fellow players, this may be just the ticket. Even better yet… the price on it has dropped considerably since the Icecrown expansion first shipped back in September. It's fairly easy to nab the Wooly White Rhino loot card for around $200 right now, if you're lucky. That's nearly half of what they were going for less than two months ago.

Here's a video of an Orc Death Knight with the Wooly White Rhino mount. There's some nice footage of him marching through Orgrimmar, as well as various parts of Northrend, including him leading a herd of rhinos through the Storm Peaks.

It gives a good example of the Wooly White Rhino's animations, plus it's in Hi-Def – – check it out…

This guy has quite the collection of loot by the way… If it's not enough that he rides to see Landro on his Spectral Tiger, at 1:18 he brings out his BlizzCon polar bear, followed by a Magic Rooster mount. Must be nice!

Being that boxes of Icecrown are going for about $60 a pop, containing 24 packs each; along with the fact that this mount's rarity is listed at 1/242 packs – – one could expect to drop about six hundred bucks trying their luck at pulling the Wooly White Rhino loot card from a pack.

$200 is really not such a bad deal. Here are a few that are available for sale right now…

Ethereal Portal… Only giant-size

November 3, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

Here's a Hi-Def look at the new Ethereal Portal loot item from the Icecrown Expansion Set. The Ethereal Portal is the reward for redeeming the Portal Stone loot card.

The Ethereal Portal is basically a much more visually impressive version of the standard hearthstone. It shares the same 30 minute cooldown as the standard hearthstone, which means, no… you don't get an additional hearthstone cooldown with this item. 😉

Have a look at the hi-def video posted below, paying particular attention to what happens at :34 and again at 4:17…

It seems Dotmaster has found a way to render a mega-size Ethereal Portal, by activating it while mounted on their Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. This effect is likely a bug and may be addressed, but it makes for a pretty awesome graphic nonetheless.

There are a couple of other WoW TCG items used in the video as well… At 1:36 Dotmaster busts out his Sandbox Tiger, then at 2:19 the party really gets underway when the D.I.S.C.O. unit is deployed.

The Ethereal Portal is one of the more unusual and exciting on-use loot items in the game.

Portal Stone loot cards are selling for around fifty dollars at this time, which is actually a pretty good deal considering the rarity of this card. The Portal Stone loot card is rare, being inserted at a rate of approximately 1 in 121 packs. Icecrown booster boxes sell for about $60-$65 each, and contain 24 packs. At 1 in 121 booster packs, one could expect to root through up to five boxes of Icecrown before producing this loot card. At that rate, this card could end up costing hundreds of dollars.

$50 isn't so bad now, is it..? 😉

BlizzCon 2010 Exclusive Pet Loot: Deathy

November 1, 2010 By Garwulf Leave a Comment

This year's BlizzCon pet is the oh-so-awesome, volcanically destructive Murloc… Deathy! Folks who were either fortunate enough to attend BlizzCon 2010, or subscribe to the pay-per-view event on Directv, were each issued a redeemable loot code card for this Murlocalyptic in-game pet.

Unfortunately, however, the pet didn't ship with its animations in place quite yet. WoW players were a little disappointed to see that Deathy's animations were nowhere near as impressive as last year's exclusive pet, Grunty. Well… that's all been fixed now, and Deathy has been given some superb animations to help with his plight of striking fear into the hearts of coast dwellers and other aquatic life around Azeroth.

Deathy is now a fearsome, fire-breathing, smoke-ring-blowing, machine of destruction!

Behold Deathy's new animations…

Video provided by the wonderful folks at MMO-Champion.

Deathy is easily one of the coolest looking non-combat pets in the game right now. For those of you that were unable to get your hands on a BlizzCon Goodie Bag, or order the PPV event on Directv, you can still find Deathy loot codes and redemption cards for sale on ebay. Better hurry though, because supplies on this guy are limited, so prices will continue to increase.

Deathy binds to your entire WoW account, which means all of your existing characters, as well as future characters, will get to enjoy this awesome pet. How cool is that..?!

Here are a couple of Deathy loot code cards available on ebay right now…

WoW TCG Worldbreaker Expansion coming in November

October 31, 2010 By Garwulf 6 Comments

Update: Worldbreaker has an official release date of December 14, 2010.

The WoW TCG Worldbreaker expansion is scheduled to ship sometime in November 2010. Most retailers are announcing a November 16th street date, but it could possibly be the following week. As soon as a concrete release date for World breaker has been set, it'll be announced here on the site.

Worldbreaker will be the first WoW TCG expansion set to contain playable Worgen and Goblins.

The WoW TCG Worldbreaker Expansion contains three all new loot cards:

Mottled Drake

[phpbay]mottled drake loot, 3, “150192”, “non”[/phpbay]
The Mottled Drake is the ultra rare loot card found in the WoW TCG Worldbreaker set. The Mottled Drake is an epic flying mount, requiring 225 riding skill to use. Mottled Drake is bind on equip, which means the item can be sold, bought or traded in-game prior to being used.

Mottled Drake WoW Mount

Judging by the tooltip, the Mottled Drake is probably going to look something like the Bronze Drake obtained from the timed event in Culling of Stratholme, but with a spotty or blotchy appearance.

The exact rarity is unknown, but it will likely be 1/242 packs.

Grim Campfire

[phpbay]grim campfire loot, 3, “150192”, “non”[/phpbay]
The Grim Campfire appears to be the rare loot card from the WoW TCG Worldbreaker expansion, likely to be inserted at a rate of 1/121 packs. Not too much is known about the Grim Campfire, but the tooltip suggests that it will probably be a more visually impressive alternative to the standard cooking fire, but without the uber Cozy Fire spirit buff. 😉

WoW TCG Grim Campfire

Based on the spell icon, it's expected that this fire may look something like the fires seen in Twilight Cultist areas.

Landro's Lil' XT

[phpbay]landro's lil xt, 3, “150192”, “”[/phpbay]
Landro's Lil' XT is the new pet loot found in the WoW TCG Worldbreaker expansion. It's possible that Landro's Lil' XT will be a super-common loot card with use charges, similar to some of the other consumable loot, like the Sandbox Tiger and Paint Bomb. However, there is no usage limit indicated on the tooltip, so it may be another rare loot card (1 in 121).

Landro's Lil XT WoW Pet Loot

Landro's Lil' XT will probably look and behave similar to the standard Lil' XT pet available from the Blizzard store, but who knows… maybe it'll have a few surprises of its own.
